Book Your Place in Art History!

How to make an Artist Book with materials from around your home

Coming soon!

Whether you are a writer or an artist, or just someone who loves to create, a great way of showing off your work is in an Artist Book. This is a unique collection of decorated pages that you can use to try out new techniques or wow the world with your talent!

And you can make the whole thing yourself, without having to spend years looking for a commercial publisher. It is an artwork all by itself.

Best of all, you can make it unique to you. No one else will have the same book in the entire world!

In this short course, I'm going to show you how to make an Artist Book using a variety of techniques that you can use in your work afterwards.
We will start with making our own paper, using stuff you can find in your own kitchen, or at a local store very cheaply.

I have taught this short course as workshops for years and it is always very popular. And, although everyone uses the same methods, the end results are always different!

In this short course you will learn:

  • How to source equipment & materials (mostly from your own house!)
  • Making your own art paper
  • Decorating techniques including painting, printmaking, collage, stamping, stitching and calligraphy
  • Different ways to construct and bind your book

So, whether you want to paint, collage or write using calligraphy, your own Artist Book will be truly unique!

Be sure to sign up to the Celtic Dreamcatcher Academy so I can let you know when this course launches! And keep checking back, as there will be more short and long courses coming along soon!

Hi there!

I'm Lynn Parr, and I'm an artist and writer living in West Wales, UK. I specialize in mixed media – which means I use a wide range of techniques and materials – and I am always looking for different ways to create paintings, collages, sculptures and textured artwork. My workshops and courses are all about thinking "out of the box": using materials you can find around your house and local environment, and not being afraid to mix a load of techniques together to achieve a really special result. In my book, there are no rules for creative expression – and if there are, you should break them! And don't forget to have fun, as well!
